The Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouq, has expressed deep sympathy with the government and people of Jigawa state over the recent fire outbreaks in four local government areas of the state.
A fire outbreak affected some people in Dirani village, Sule Tankarkar Local Government Area of the state, where it razed houses, reduced tonnes of stored grains to ashes and incinerated other goods estimated at millions of Naira.
Another fire incident occurred at Fulata Town in Taura Local Government Area where 48 people lost their homes, 14 others injured and goods worth millions of Naira burnt, while other fires in the Hadejia Old Motor Park and in Birniwa Market in the Birniwa Local Government Area destroyed many shops and goods.
Hajiya Sadiya Farouq prayed to the Almighty God against recurrence of such incidents.
