The Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Yusuf M. Tuggar (OON), has extended his warm greetings to the Muslim Ummah and to all Nigerians on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, a festival he described as a period of reflection, sacrifice, and renewed faith in the Almighty.
Eid al-Adha, a time of deep spiritual significance, invites us to emulate the virtues of obedience, resilience, and selflessness exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (AS), and reinforced in the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW). These enduring values remain essential, not only in personal conduct but also in the collective pursuit of a peaceful and just society.
The Minister urged Muslim faithful to use the occasion to pray for peace and stability both within Nigeria and across the world. He specifically called for prayers for all regions facing conflict and unrest, including Gaza, Sudan, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, where innocent civilians continue to bear the brunt of violence.
At the national level, Ambassador Tuggar expressed solidarity with internally displaced persons (IDPs) across Nigeria, praying for their relief and the full restoration of their dignity. He also extended heartfelt condolences to the people of Mokwa, Niger State, in the aftermath of the devastating floods of May 28, which resulted in loss of lives and widespread destruction. The Minister called on Nigerians to support humanitarian efforts and stand in unity with affected families.
This festive period, he noted, is also an opportunity to honour the sacrifice and courage of Nigeria’s frontline officers who tirelessly work to safeguard the nation’s peace and security. Their unwavering dedication continues to serve as an inspiration to all citizens.

As the nation celebrates this sacred festival, he called on all Nigerians to draw strength from its profound message and renew their commitment to shared humanity, unity of purpose, and national renewal.
