The Independent National Electoral Commission has fixed Monday, May 11, 2026, for the resumption of the third and final phase of the nationwide Continuous Voter Registration exercise.
The exercise will run until Friday, July 10, 2026.
In a statement signed by Mohammed Kudu Haruna, Chairman of INEC’s Information and Voter Education Committee, the Commission said the final phase would give eligible Nigerians who have attained the age of 18, as well as those who missed earlier phases, another opportunity to register.
INEC said the second phase of the exercise was suspended on April 17, 2026, to allow the Commission clean up the register after it was published for claims and objections.
The Commission also advised registered voters seeking to transfer their registration, replace lost or damaged Permanent Voter Cards, or correct their biodata to use its online portal or visit INEC state and local government area offices nationwide.
INEC said the Register of Voters would be displayed for claims and objections from Thursday, July 23, to Wednesday, July 29, 2026.
According to the Commission, the statutory display will allow citizens to scrutinise the register and help improve its accuracy, completeness and credibility.
The electoral body assured Nigerians that all necessary arrangements had been concluded for the smooth conduct of the exercise.
It urged eligible citizens to take advantage of the final registration window and participate in strengthening the country’s electoral process.
