Troops of the Nigerian Army have foiled a terrorist attack and rescued 31 abducted worshippers following an Easter church assault in Ariko Village, Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The victims were kidnapped during a service at an ECWA Church before troops responded swiftly to a distress call and launched a rescue operation.
According to the Army, soldiers mobilised immediately and, with support from local residents, tracked the attackers and engaged them in a firefight. The terrorists were overpowered and forced to abandon the captives while fleeing.
