The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has released a revised timetable for its 2026 primary elections and adjusted nomination fees following consultations with party stakeholders nationwide.
In a statement signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC said the sale and submission of nomination forms will run from May 6 to May 13, 2026, with the deadline fixed for the last day.
According to the schedule, screening of aspirants will take place between May 14 and May 15, while results will be published on May 17. Appeals are slated for May 18 and May 19, with the final list of cleared aspirants to be released on May 20.
The party said primary elections for State Houses of Assembly, House of Representatives and Senate seats will hold on May 21, followed by governorship primaries on May 22. The presidential primary is scheduled for May 23.
It added that a National Executive Committee meeting will take place on May 25, ahead of a Special National Convention on May 26.
The ADC also announced revised nomination fees, setting the presidential form at ₦90 million, governorship at ₦30 million, Senate at ₦10 million, House of Representatives at ₦5 million, and State Assembly at ₦2 million.
The party retained its concessionary policy, offering a 50 per cent discount for youth aspirants aged 18 to 35, and a 25 per cent reduction for women and persons living with disabilities.
The ADC said the adjustments were the outcome of broad consultations aimed at strengthening internal democracy, improving inclusiveness, and ensuring a credible candidate selection process ahead of the 2027 Nigerian general elections.
It urged aspirants and stakeholders to adhere strictly to the updated guidelines and timelines.
