The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has dismissed reports circulating on social media purporting to show the outcome of its party primaries, describing the claims as false and misleading.
In a statement signed by the party’s National Secretary, Barrister Ikenna Morgan Enekweizu, the NDC clarified that its primary elections are scheduled to take place on Friday, May 29, 2026, making it impossible for any authentic results or winners to have emerged.
The party said any purported primary election results currently being circulated did not originate from its official channels and should be disregarded by members of the public.
“It is therefore impossible and illogical for any primary results or winners to have emerged when the primaries are yet to take place,” the statement said.
The NDC urged Nigerians, party supporters, and registered members to remain vigilant and avoid spreading unverified information capable of misleading the public.
The party also reaffirmed its commitment to conducting a transparent and credible primary election process, assuring stakeholders that official results would only be communicated through authorised party platforms after the conclusion of the exercise.
The statement comes amid the circulation of alleged NDC primary election results ahead of the scheduled party primaries. According to the party, only information released through its recognised channels should be considered authentic.
