A group of youths suspected to be political thugs loyal to National Chairman of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, on Friday, attacked peaceful demonstrators at the party’s secretariat in Abuja.
The demonstrators comprising young men who carried placards reading “Oshiomhole Must Go” “Say No To Oshiomhole “ were on their way to the party Secretariat in Wuse 2 when thugs who had gathered within the secretariat attacked them with matchet and stones.
The attack continued for a long while before security agents who had mounted surveillance within the secretariat dispersed the thugs with teargas and restored calm in the area.
Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari and other party leaders are expected to be at the Party Secretariat today by 3pm for the National Executive Council meeting.
There are reports that the Party Chairman may be removed today.
