The Buhari Media Organisation (BMO) has welcomed the appointment of Dr Sarah Omotunde Alade, a former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) as Special Adviser to the President on Finance and the Economy by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The BMO said in a statement signed by its Chairman, Mr. Niyi Akinsuji and Secretary, Cassidy Maduke, that Dr Alade is a technocrat of immense skills and capacity for hard work that fits the traits and characters most cherished by the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.
“Her appointment is on merit and the Federal Government in particular, and Nigeria in general, will benefit from her wealth of experience and strong positive track record which manifested in her previous roles in the CBN,” the BMO stated.
BMO noted that the newly-appointed adviser, who held various positions at the Central Bank of Nigeria, is bringing to her new role the experience she garnered in the 23 years she worked for the Central Bank of Nigeria, where she rose to the position of a substantive Deputy Governor, and in 2014 acted as Governor of the apex bank. She retired from the CBN in 2017.
The Special Adviser, who holds BSc (Economics) and PhD in Management Science (Operations Research), will be domiciled in the Federal Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning, where she is expected to participate in the articulation of economic and fiscal policies that would sharpen and deepen the process of diversifying the economy as envisioned by the President Muhammadu Buhari administration.
