One of Our Staff Tested Positive to COVID-19 and Self Isolating – FIRS

The management of Federal Inland Revenue Service did not lie when it said no any of its staff tested positive to COVID-19 in its release to the press. The emergent case being cited is not the one referred to in the the release. That other case was linked to the victim on British Airways that came into the country penultimate week. However, this current case is connected with the Aerocontractor flight that Atiku’s son took from the United Kingdom last week.

So the public is urged to note the different circumstances involving the two cases. The Management therefore wishes to confirm that one of its staff who recently returned to the country from the United Kingdom along with Atiku’s son has tested positive to COVID-19 and has since been taken to the isolation center at Gwagwalada. On arrival the staff, upon learning of the confirmed case of Atiku’s son, subjected himself to self isolation. He, therefore, did not visit any of our facilities or have further contact with his colleagues.

The public is assured that the management is doing everything it can to safeguard the health of its staff and visitors to our offices across the country. All precautionary measures are being observed in this regard. For avoidance of doubt, the management will not hesitate to report or confirm any known case of a staff that contracts the COVID-19.
